Dinners at Le Secret des Rotisseurs and Gordon Ramsay’s The Narrow

Dinner this weekend was spent at 2 amazing restaurants in East london,  Le Secret des Rotisseurs located in Canary Wharf and Gordon Ramsay’s The Narrow.

Les Secret des Rottiseurs

Fantastic view of the thames, nice romantic ambience, a good wine list, lovely aroma of flame roasted birds turning on an open spit and an accomplished secret sauce made this restaurant a nice place to dine out on a saturday night. I just about managed to get through the starter, main and dessert. The latter was a struggle as the half chicken was pretty filling… well that and the fact I had 4 slices of bread and a Chicken liver terrine starter. See below for some mouth watering pictures.

Homemade Terrine of Poultry livers

Signature Free-range “Poulets Rtis Maistre Benoit”
Tender and Succulent roasted chicken with this secret Tarragon sauce was top notch.
Duo of roasted Bananas a la rotisserie: Served with caramel and Orange sauce and a quenelle of Ice cream

The dishes tasted lovely and the secret sauce was really the star of the chicken dish. Do try and visit this place if you can. As an additional option, you can also ask the restaurant to roast other types of meat in advance. What more can a man ask for?. A nice walk back home in the freezing weather helped to burn all that food. Well it didnt burn much because the train station was 8 minutes away. One can only hope.

The Narrow

I spent my sunday evening waiting for a friend thats always late and true to form, he turned up 30 minutes late once again. A quick change of our arrival time on open table, was soon followed by a brisk walk from Limehouse station to Gordon Ramsays “The Narrow”.

Great views across the Thames, friendly staff , nice decor and good tasting food makes this a place worth spending the winter and summer months. Some of the dishes I tasted were..

Dedham Vale sirloin.
Very tender meat.tasted great and was quite filling as well
Cod fillet with free range poached egg, Kale colcannon and mustard sauce
Banana sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream. Yum and moorish dessert.

The food tasted quite good and the view was a massive bonus. This restaurant is just a stop away from my workplace which means I am already dreaming of spending a few more evenings here on the way home.

Hope you’ve enjoyed reading the blog and have a nice week whatever you get up to. .
……   Bye for now….
